Saturday, March 9th
NYCFC vs Portland Timbers – 1:00 p.m. (Apple TV)
Can NYCFC can keep pace with Austin and San Jose in the early race for the Wooden Spoon?
Toronto FC vs FC Charlotte – 1:00 p.m. (Apple TV)
A battle between two teams whom I may have underestimated in the pre-season. The game to watch during this time slot.
Atlanta United vs New England Revolution – 6:30 p.m. (Apple TV)
Just Atlanta’s 2nd game of the year after the quick bye last Saturday. New England is playing its 6th game in 18 days thanks to CCC. Nick Lima is starting to understand why Austin tanked against Violette now.
Columbus Crew vs Chicago Fire – 6:30 p.m. (Apple TV)
An old school MLS Rivalry here. Travis McTravelFace attended last week’s Chicago vs Cincinnati match and reported joint pre-game “Fuck Columbus” chants between both sets of supporters. I approve of that message.
New York Red Bulls vs FC Dallas – 6:30 p.m. (Apple TV)
Can the Red Bulls pull of the Texas Two Step after winning at Houston last week? If so, they get the rights to the El Capitán cannon. These are the rules.
Orlando City vs Minnesota United – 6:30 p.m. (Apple TV)
Orlando also came down with CCC fever, as it’s game 6 in 18 days for them too. Minnesota looks spry under new management. Loons might soar here as Orlando has a massive away tie at Tigres next Wednesday.
Philadelphia Union vs Seattle Sounders – 6:30 p.m. (Apple TV)
A (likely) rotated Philly squad goes up against the M*A*S*H unit known as Seattle. Great way to advertise your stadium expansion plans Union!
Real Salt Lake vs Colorado Rapids – 8:30 p.m. (Apple TV)
As funny as watching LAFC deal with snow was last week, it really should have happened in the Rocky Mountain Cup. RSL probably has enough firepower to take this game without much resistance.
LAFC vs Sporting KC – 9:30 p.m. (Apple TV)
I think Sporting is a bit better than their two draws show, especially since they got hosed out of a win last week by the replacement refs. LAFC are probably closer to the team we saw in week 1 than the comedy of errors from the snowpocalyspe at RSL last Saturday.
San Jose Earthquakes vs Vancouver Whitecaps – 9:30 p.m. (Apple TV)
If you watch this, you’re a true MLS Sicko. And I love you. Now let’s go do karate in the garage.
Sunday, March 10th
FC Cincinnati vs D.C. United – 2:00 p.m. (Apple TV)
Cincy has bigger fish to fry in CCC play with a massive away game coming up at Monterrey. D.C. has been surprisingly solid in their first two games. Potential upset here.
Nashville vs LA Galaxy – 2:00 p.m. (Apple TV)
This is a bad spot for the home club. Nashville has to focus on regrouping for the return leg of their CCC tie with Inter Miami. Meanwhile the Galaxy, a young and exciting team, come in fresh and ready to roll. Don’t be surprised when L.A. wins by two goals.
Inter Miami vs Club de Foot Montreal – 4:00 p.m. (Apple TV)
Tune in to watch Messi and Suarez’s backups lose to French Canada!
