It’s been a sad week at The Compound, not just because of how quickly Austin dashed our hopes in the first match of the season, but because the weather swings have been absolute hell on everyone. We’ve had between 4/6 and 12/16 of the staff down with the flu, congestion, or bad coughs the entire time.
So what’s the best solution to this? Going to the Pacific Northwest where the weather is consistently…rainy.
Its this earned reputation that led me to travel to the Emerald City, known for its coffee, grunge music, and hospitals staffed with impossibly attractive people:
And both teams could use this level of medical talent and skill:
I’m not sure if Atticus Lincoln could solve their injury crisis, but at the least he would look good doing it while trying to sort out his unrequited love for Dr. Jo Wilson and dealing with his ex Dr. Amelia Shepherd and their child together.
Maybe they could hire his protege Dr. Nico Kim, who nearly went to go and be the team doctor for the Seattle Mariners before deciding he didn’t want to be away from Co-Chief Resident Dr. Levi Schmitt.
I took the ferry over the Sound (Thank you Dr. Derek Shepherd), which is both a great means of public transportation and really fun. I FaceTimed into the compound to make sure the chickens were taken care of. Wolffie and San Julius were right at home back at their coop, pecking at Arby’s fries. I saw the two empty cartons by them and thought again about the emptiness I felt at Q2 last weekend.
