There’s not much need for a preamble this week, as Saturday’s game against Frisco was a relatively workmanlike affair both on the pitch and in the stands. They came, they played, they won Copa Tejas. Now let’s get to the numbers!

Random Thoughts: I was a bit surprised that LMdA still played “Wolff of Sixth Street” at the start of the match even though Josh Wolff wasn’t on the sidelines. As is customary on the road, they excluded “McKalla” from the setlist entirely. This is the second straight match where La Murga played “Diegoles,” because it’s also the second straight match where Diego Fagundez scored. And if you’re wondering where “Fuck Dallas, Fuck Frisco” is, you can blame the school marm-ish policies of Toyota Stadium. Who knew that the people of Frisco, Texas could be so reactionary?
What Songs Were Playing When Austin Scored
There it is! For the first time all season, Austin scored when the band played “Cuervos.” It’s a little bittersweet that it happened away from home, but perhaps it’s for the best: had Austin scored an equalizer against an intrastate rival while La Murga played “Cuervos” at home, McKalla may literally have erupted.
What Songs Were Playing When Frisco Scored
“Let’s Go ATX” had been a bit of a juggernaut this season, but Saturday saw it record its first red mark in the ledger. It is now the fifth song this year to see at least one goal scored and conceded, joining “Ole Ole Ola,” “Matador,” “Alright Alright Alright,” and “La Bamba.”

Final Thoughts
Despite seeing a goal conceded, “Let’s Go ATX” remains in second place behind “Bella Ciao” for song of the year (that’s an actual song). With “Cuervos” finally on the board, “Dale Austin” is now by far the the most popular song that has seen neither a goal scored nor conceded — it’s been played 14 times more than the next most popular song (“Listos Verde”). Unless Austin reaches the playoffs and faces either Frisco or Houston (hahaha), we’ve probably heard the last of “Fuck Dallas, Fuck Frisco” this season. However, I’m sure that we will carry its message in our hearts forever.
