Morning: Arrival and Breakfast
I arrived in Vancouver on a flight from Montreal in the morning and rented a car. After arriving, I parked in a nondescript garage downtown. I needed coffee so I went the Prototype Coffee for breakfast. I ordered a plain bagel with cream cheese and a cup of coffee.
Mid-Morning: A Walk by the Waterfront
After breakfast, I took a leisurely stroll along the waterfront. The scenery was nice but nothing out of the ordinary. I watched the boats drift in the harbor and glance at the occasional seagull. Walked a few blocks, stopping only to read the information plaques that provide facts I should have written down and are now forgotten.
Lunch
For lunch, I choose Vonn’s Smashburgers. I ordered a plain burger and fries, a comfort food I can get anywhere. I sat by myself and contemplated what to do next while avoiding any interesting conversation.
Afternoon: Visit a Museum
I spent the afternoon at the Museum of Anthropology at the University of British Columbia. I wandered through exhibits that were mildly interesting, like local Vancouver history.
Late Afternoon: Shopping
Next, I went to the shopping area in Vancouver. There were a lot of stores that looked interesting but the lack of black polos and slacks meant there was really nothing that would fit my wardrobe.
Evening: The Match
It was at this point I realized that despite being the 8 seed Vancouver was not hosting the match. I went to my hotel and watched the match where Vancouver won 5-0 over Portland.
