Well, our Verde and Black got their asses thoroughly kicked up north of the border over the weekend, which gave us plenty of reasons to watch the rest of the league play. That being said, it’s not surprising that the Whitecaps lead our rankings this week.

MLS Power Rankings After Week 7
At least our team got these rankings out in the middle of the week! It’s been a busy time around the compound with our springtime activities, so we’ll be a bit more brief than usual:
MLS Power Rankings Post Week 6
Here at the compound, the weeks are always better when the Verde and Black win, especially after winning somewhere we have never won before. While we are shooting up these rankings, we are not at the top yet, as Inter Miami remains simply too good.
Power Rankings After Week 5
So yeah, I know we missed the rankings last week, since we were too busy with other stuff. Turns out tracking the international break and following MLS combined with our personal travel just means we fell behind here. However, our voters were rocking and rolling this week, so we were able to get out our…
Week 3 MLS Power Rankings
Well this past week’s MLS play was only mildly absurd by league standards. We didn’t have Miami beating Charlotte with only 10 men for a half and no Messi or Chicago scoring 3 goals after the 80th minute (and saving a PK in that stretch) to win the Brimstone Cup up in Frisco, but it…
The False Nine Power Rankings (1.0 in Week 2)
Well, since we are two weeks into the new MLS season, a number of us gathered around the compound and started looking at the Power Rankings from MLS, ESPN, Backheeled, and other sources. And while many of the people are doing amazing work over there, some of their analysis is just lazy. To be fair,…

First off, Don…
How to make a Bad Situation Worse: The Austin FC II Open Cup Ticketing Mess
After the 2023 season, our expectations for 2024 Austin FC were pretty low. We just finished a miserable season, and Rodo made it pretty clear that the rebuild of the first team was going to take multiple transfer windows. Maybe come close to a play-in game in the West, get smashed in Leagues Cup, somehow…
Real Schedule Preview
The holiday season is often about celebrating love. With Don Garber showing us some rare love by releasing a schedule before Christmas, our hearts were temporarily warmed. Then, we quickly realized that we didn’t get the gift of matches at a random baseball stadium in New York, a weekend by the lake against a clueless…
The Comprehensive Guide to MLS Stadiums and Support
After having had a chance to visit CITYPark for last weekend’s match, I wanted to share a long overdue piece ranking the league’s stadiums and fan support in it. Unlike some of the other pieces here, I tried to write it from a more neutral perspective rather than a super biased Verde faithful. Tier 1:…
