Goals! Austin FC scored goals in a real, live match last week! Sure, it was another home draw ya Debby Downer, but the scoreless drought is over! You know what?
Hey, things could be worse. We could be Sporting Kansas City. Speaking of SKC….
MLS Sickos Game of the Week
Seattle Sounders vs Sporting Kansas City – Sunday @ 3:30 p.m. (FOX/Apple TV)
Hey national TV audience, would you like to spend your Sunday afternoon watching the worst team in the league get absolutely drilled by one of the best clubs in MLS?!
This is gonna be a bloodbath that will not be for the faint of heart. You are hereby warned.
6:30 p.m. Block – Apple TV (*denotes free match)
Toronto FC vs New England Revolution
FC Cincinnati vs D.C. United
Inter Miami CF vs Atlanta United
CF Montreal vs Orlando City
New York Red Bulls vs Philadelphia Union
San Jose Earthquakes vs LAFC
FC Charlotte vs NYCFC*
There’s not a truly bad game in this early block of games on Saturday, but we’re going to focus on two that should have your attention. In the East, and I can’t believe these words are being written, it’s a potential playoff preview between Cincinnati and D.C. The boys from southern Ohio are 6-for-6 at home this season (including Open Cup) and are tied for the East lead. Meanwhile, Wayne Rooney is getting everything possible from a revamped United team that has won four straight in all competitions. No rooting interest in this one for us. Just have fun.
The Side: A fun draw for all
As for the other early match, for some reason San Jose and LAFC are playing a mid-afternoon contest on the West Coast. LAFC is coming off an emotional mid-week win in CCL play over Philadelphia and may rotate a bit to get some guys rest. We saw San Jose up close and personal last week. News flash: I still hate them.
The Side: A draw where 18 red cards are handed out for being terrible human beings
7:30 p.m. Block – Apple TV
FC Dallas vs St. Louis CITY
Houston Dynamo vs Real Salt Lake
Nashville SC vs Chicago Fire
Frisco hosts CITY in the best game of the mid-evening block. The Toros have had trouble scoring lately and that could be trouble against a high-flying St. Louis side, however the home club also has the ability to let CITY have possession and counter against that, which is exactly how you beat St. Louis. Should be an interesting match.
The Side: Can they both lose?
9:30 p.m. Block – Apple TV
Vancouver Whitecaps vs Minnesota United FC
L.A. Galaxy vs Colorado Rapids
Let’s be real. We’re all going to be watching ATXFC during this time.
