It’s been a while since we’ve convened here. Sometimes life happens. Sometimes you just feel no motivation to write. And sometimes Josh Wolff kills your soccer loving soul.
I’ve been at stage 3 for quite a while now and have no interest in fully relitigating the case against Josh Wolff. It’s pretty obvious to anyone paying attention that he is no longer the man to lead the Verde & Black. Hell, myself and others here were calling for his removal as far back as June of 2023 because we saw the writing on the wall. It appears as if others in our local media are starting to come to the same conclusion and applying for membership to the “bum ass losers club” (Hi Eric Goodman and North End pod!), to which I say…
This team has upgraded on talent since the summer transfer window. Mikkel Desler is a stud. Osman Bukari can flat out ball. Oleksandr Svatok looked great against LAFC. But somehow Josh Wolff keeps making the same idiotic mistakes over and over, and those mistakes are holding this club back from its potential.
How many games did we waste trying Sebastian Driussi as a False 9, when that hasn’t worked at any point in his tenure here?
How many goals (and potentially points) could have been saved if Svatok was actually on the field more? You all remember Aleksander Radovanovic in 2023? The man who was on a short-term loan and couldn’t get playing time until Wolff’s hand was forced, only to show he was BY FAR our most capable option at center-back? Wolff is making the same damn blunder with Svatok.
How many times must we hear that “chances are there and we just can’t finish”? Getting this team to score goals is a fundamental part of your damn job as a coach, Josh.
How many times do we need to blow a one-goal lead because Josh makes the wrong sub and gets too conservative?
How many times are we going to let Wolff complain about the roster when he continually misuses the players on it? A good coach doesn’t need a perfect roster to be competitive. A good coach sees what they have to work with, figures out how to fit the pieces together, and puts them in positions to succeed.
Its beyond time for this dude to go. He’s condescending in his media interviews towards legitimate questions and concerns. Quite frankly Josh, you haven’t earned the right to be smug. The fans are sick of uninspired soccer and if you need proof, check out the secondary market for tickets to the game against RSL. Lots of good seats available at rock bottom prices. Or better yet, open your ears after our recent home losses and listen to the cascade of boos ringing down from the rafters.
This club needs new leadership. And if Anthony Precourt isn’t willing to get rid of his hand-picked coach, then it needs new ownership too.
Wolff The Fuck Out.
