Our beloved Žan was born in Murska Sobota, Republika Slovenija on the 3rd of March, 2000 – 139 years to the day after Alexander II freed the serfs in Russia. His parents run Slovenia’s largest bespoke workshop producing satirical woodcuts, a family business that goes back 5 generations. Žan’s hometown is in the mountainous northeastern region of Slovenia, it is home to the first Holocaust memorial in the country and was the northernmost town in the former Yugoslavia. It also briefly hosted a now defunct version of Bonnaroo.
